About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Hotchkiss, Colorado, 133 BRGR is a must-visit destination for burger lovers craving a truly authentic and satisfying meal. Specializing in classic American fare with a mouthwatering twist, this local gem brings the best of the grill straight to your plate. From the very first bite, you can taste the dedication to quality that sets 133 BRGR apart — every ingredient feels fresh, thoughtfully chosen, and expertly prepared.

The menu is a carnivore’s delight, boasting standout items like the Hickory Burger and Fries with Cheese, the richly decadent Mushroom Swiss Burger, and the satisfying 1/2 Pound Bacon Cheeseburger that delivers serious flavor and hearty indulgence. Each burger is crafted on a perfectly grilled patty, with buns boasting an irresistible freshness and softness — a detail many customers rave about. Vegetarians and those seeking lighter options aren't left out either, thanks to the tasty Chipotle Black Bean Burger that carries its own bold, smoky charm.

The sides are equally compelling, especially the crispy, golden fries loaded with melty cheese and paired with zesty chili cheese fries, offering that perfect balance of gooey, spicy, and crunchy textures. For those wanting a bit of comfort food nostalgia, the Chicken Strips and Fries and hearty Patty Melt round out a well-curated menu that satisfies a variety of cravings.

What truly elevates the 133 BRGR experience is how customers consistently highlight not just the food, but the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The staff is warm and attentive, creating a neighborhood vibe where everyone feels right at home. Whether you’re a local or passing through, you can expect friendly service paired with a clean, inviting environment — the kind of place where you can savor your meal without the hustle and bustle of bigger crowds.

Long-time patrons like Josh Wetterman enthuse, “BEST BURGER in 100 miles! Fresh ingredients ALWAYS, great flavor ALWAYS!” while others like Brian Burkhardt proudly declare it “Still the BEST burger in Colorado.” This reputation for excellence is well-earned, with countless repeat visitors attesting to the consistent quality of the beef, the perfectly crispy fries, and those unforgettable garlic cheese curds that you simply won’t find anywhere else.

Recent additions to their menu have only enhanced the dining experience. Jeremy Upton notes that what began as a simple burger and fries spot has blossomed into “the best restaurant in the North Fork,” thanks to expanded offerings like an exceptional calzone, making 133 BRGR not just a meal stop, but a true culinary highlight of the region.

In summary, 133 BRGR is more than just a burger joint — it’s a celebration of hearty, flavorful food served with genuine pride and hospitality. If you find yourself in Hotchkiss craving an unbeatable burger experience paired with crispy, crave-worthy fries and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the spot that will leave you savoring every bite long after the last crumb is gone.

BEST BURGER in 100 miles! Fresh ingredients ALWAYS, great flavor ALWAYS! Been here multiple times and every time it’s perfect. The best damn fry’s too! And garlic cheese curds that you won’t find anywhere else! Just amazing all around. Now I can’t speak for everything on menu but if you get a burger and fries you won’t be disappointed! The pictures I’m posting should speak for themselves too!

133 Burger is always a go to when passing through Hotchkiss. We’ve stopped here multiple times and the quality never changes. The staff is always friendly, kind and helpful. This last trip two of us got the bacon cheeseburger and two of us got the meal deal for the day which was the hickory burger. The meal deal came with fries and a drink For $13.95. The burgers are always quality beef and thick and juicy. The hamburgers are always huge and make it hard to get your mouth wide enough to take a bite. They have fry sauce which was exceptional and not everyone knows about it. They do also have ice cream shakes and malts but have never had any from being so full after eating my burger. The restaurant was clean and very neat and good environment for all. There is plenty of parking up front or around the building.

This place is amazing! Easily one of the greatest burgers, because of the insanely fresh buns and ingredients being crisp. The food is only as good as the team working there, that was so pleasant as well. Clean and open environment. Nice crispy balance on the waffle fries too. Random find as we stayed in Paonia.

Still the BEST burger in Colorado. I’ve had a lot of burgers in Colorado - 133 is still my favorite. No frills, no brewpub, just amazing burgers - without the crowds and wait. And always friendly local service.

They were amazing when they only had burgers, fries, and ice cream. Now? Now that they have many choices? Now that the best burgers in the North Fork isn't their only claim to fame? Now that I had the pleasure of eating the best calzone ever? They're now the best restaurant in the North Fork! Just my humble opinion.... Enjoy (yes, you will!)

Delicious food at a good price. We came from Montrose because they have good reviews. The garlic cheese curds were crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. The fries had a nice crispy texture. The burgers were all delicious. My 11 year old finished everything including dessert. We all had "baby cones" which was plenty for each of us. Great place to eat if you live in the area or if you're just passing through. Highly recommend

We’ve been back since original review many times; but I figured it was time to freshen it up. Added a couple new pics. Prices have followed inflation and like every where else, gone up. So the complaints about food for price, I got a DAMN GOOD bacon cheeseburger, fried and large drink and still say they’re competitively priced and CB’s (as one reviewer said) isn’t serving a burger close to this! 133BRGR still doing it right! What used to be called the “Hightower Cafe” is now “133 BRGR.” Completely different owner and staff. Today was their grand opening. A remodel job turned the fairly rundown cafe into a nice clean, presentable eatery that is simple but effective in the presentation of the meal. Complete with a exterior sign “133 BRGR” that looks like a highway road sign. Handmade 1/4lb or 1/2lb burgers with all the fixings and choices of sides, hot dogs, chili dogs, grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches, salads, chicken strips and more. Soda pop, Shakes, ice cream, cones and many flavors to choose from. I had the 1/2lb bacon cheeseburger with fries that was both hearty and tasty. The bacon was thick sliced, not some half cooked by microwave flimsy piece of maybe pork. My wife had the 1/3lb cheeseburger and fries. The buns were fresh and held up to the weight of the beef. Priced fairly; our meal was $24.50 which included 2 large drinks. “133 BRGR” is the best burger in the North Fork Valley!!!!

Excellent burgers, fries and cheese curds. We eat here multiple times per visit to Hotchkiss. A bit pricy (a double scoop ice cream cone was $10), but the food quality in general justifies the cost for the most part.
